Can your microphone hear you?
Test your microphone online: live sound level, waveform, settings (noise suppression, echo), 5-second recording and playback. Ideal before Zoom, Teams or Discord.
FAQ
Why does my microphone pick up nothing?
Check the browser permission, the right microphone in the list, the headset mute switch, and the system input volume (Windows: Settings › Sound › Input; Mac: Settings › Sound › Input).
What level is ideal?
Speaking normally, the level should reach the green zone (about -20 to -6 dB) without touching red. Too low and people struggle to hear you; in the red the sound clips and crackles.
What do noise suppression and echo cancellation do?
They are browser processing that removes background noise and speaker echo. They are on by default in calls; the test lets you hear the difference.
